Thanksgiving Trip to Utah

We made a stop in Kanosh to visit the cemetary where Mark's grandparent's are buried on the way to Alpine, UT.
Luke trying to blow on a dandelion. He kept getting frustrated after the first try because it wouldn't work and would then just destroy it with his hands :). I thought this picture was much sweeter.
His Grandmother passed away on Valentines Day this past year after being separated from her husband for over 44 years. What a great reunion that must be!!
10 hours later......
First things first, when the kids got to grandma and grandpa's it was jumping time! Luke now refers to Grandma Cox as the "jumpin grandma".
Then it's off to the sand box...."Grandma's backyard is so cool!" Grandpa's new toy. I have a feeling he will be plowing all the neighbor's sidewalks for fun. Marks' favorite outing of the trip THANKSGIVING FOOTBALL GAME: Tryg is ready to go! Luke....."Who's team do I get to be on?"
The Cheering section....I'm thinking Dad's probably not liking the cheerleader look on Tryg :)
Luke and Danny on the sidelines As Luke says...."Go Go Go...." Dinner time! With 22 people, it was a little tight but luckily there was more than enough to go around. I can just hear Grandpa saying...."How come I don't have any turkey and how come everyone has a fork but me? Hey, I don't think Mom even cried on the famous say what your thankful for round the table! That's wierd :)
Gotta love the homemade turkey napkin rings that mom made about 30 years ago in homemaking.
Maybe Luke thinks that if he can't see his peas they'll taste better :)
I will take credit for the dutch apple, lemon meringue, cherry and my new favorite-peach with candied pecan topping. Yummy!!
Mark doesn't like to share :)
Luke, Jake and Danny with their dessert. Nothing like a little guitar hero to aid in digestion. Apparently Brent should have been a musician in another life.
With Thanksgiving over it's time to start thinking about Christmas.
The trip would not be complete without Grandpa's famous puppet show. Umm...Kenny, I think your a little old for this. The boys enjoying Grandpa's bedtime story complete with authentic character voices.
Luke a bit tuckered out from the festivities...
priceless!
Well I don't have any pictures of our trip back to San Diego but it was smooth sailing until we got to Las Vegas. We stopped at Susi's house to visit for a little bit and left there about 3pm. Well we forgot to remind ourselves that it was the Sunday after Thanksgiving and it took us over 2 hours to get to stateline (that should only take about 30 minutes). Needless to say we turned around and imposed ourselves on Susi and her family for the night and left the next morning at 4am. It was a very long trip home but we learned our lesson. Never travel on a Sunday after a holiday!!! Ahh.....Good times.

  1. You got some great pictures! I copied some off your site, but others won't let me. Can you email me the one of the boys eating ice cream, Luke and Danny at the football game, the 2 puppet show ones, and Brent playing guitar hero? Thanks.

I love the ones of Luke sleeping with the Santa hat and Dad feeding Tryg.

  6. Joanne,

Loved seeing the younger half of the kids at your Mom and Dad's. I swear do your parents ever AGE?! Everyone looked like they enjoyed themselves. Your boys are sure cuties.
