Dancing Snowman

When we pulled this snowman out Tryg was not very fond of it

As you can see he eventually warmed up.

and some more dancing fun with Gracie (notice the shoving again on Gracie's part :))

Hey Lukie...you want to go for a hay ride?

This is Allie's idea of a hay ride :)

December Family Fun

Tryg loved getting a ride on Grandpa's shoulders. "Wow...things look a lot different up here!" You can definitely tell that Luke is an Olson....striking resemblance to Grandpa.
Luke was liking the ride at first.....
Whoa.......not so much now.
Watching Polar Express in 3D with Grandma Cox.....for the 50th time!
Gracie comes for a visit! These cousins are only 6 days apart and are going to have such a great time growing up together.
Except for the fact that Gracie likes to steal the spotlight
and shove Tryg aside...:)
Racked my brain trying to figure out a clever caption to this photo of Gracie but nothing came to mind. I thought it was an interesting face though. "Gimmie that camera..it looks so shiny and yummy!" On to cookie decorating.... not sure much decorating is going on here...
Well, I've officially been taken out of the cookie decorating contest...it's all about Scotty and Brandon now.
Sorry Scotty...Brandon is the champ.
That's a pretty good Santa! Well done Brandon.

Thanksgiving Trip to Utah

We made a stop in Kanosh to visit the cemetary where Mark's grandparent's are buried on the way to Alpine, UT.
Luke trying to blow on a dandelion. He kept getting frustrated after the first try because it wouldn't work and would then just destroy it with his hands :). I thought this picture was much sweeter.
His Grandmother passed away on Valentines Day this past year after being separated from her husband for over 44 years. What a great reunion that must be!!
10 hours later......
First things first, when the kids got to grandma and grandpa's it was jumping time! Luke now refers to Grandma Cox as the "jumpin grandma".
Then it's off to the sand box...."Grandma's backyard is so cool!" Grandpa's new toy. I have a feeling he will be plowing all the neighbor's sidewalks for fun. Marks' favorite outing of the trip THANKSGIVING FOOTBALL GAME: Tryg is ready to go! Luke....."Who's team do I get to be on?"
The Cheering section....I'm thinking Dad's probably not liking the cheerleader look on Tryg :)
Luke and Danny on the sidelines As Luke says...."Go Go Go...." Dinner time! With 22 people, it was a little tight but luckily there was more than enough to go around. I can just hear Grandpa saying...."How come I don't have any turkey and how come everyone has a fork but me? Hey, I don't think Mom even cried on the famous say what your thankful for round the table! That's wierd :)
Gotta love the homemade turkey napkin rings that mom made about 30 years ago in homemaking.
Maybe Luke thinks that if he can't see his peas they'll taste better :)
I will take credit for the dutch apple, lemon meringue, cherry and my new favorite-peach with candied pecan topping. Yummy!!
Mark doesn't like to share :)
Luke, Jake and Danny with their dessert. Nothing like a little guitar hero to aid in digestion. Apparently Brent should have been a musician in another life.
With Thanksgiving over it's time to start thinking about Christmas.
The trip would not be complete without Grandpa's famous puppet show. Umm...Kenny, I think your a little old for this. The boys enjoying Grandpa's bedtime story complete with authentic character voices.
Luke a bit tuckered out from the festivities...
priceless!
Well I don't have any pictures of our trip back to San Diego but it was smooth sailing until we got to Las Vegas. We stopped at Susi's house to visit for a little bit and left there about 3pm. Well we forgot to remind ourselves that it was the Sunday after Thanksgiving and it took us over 2 hours to get to stateline (that should only take about 30 minutes). Needless to say we turned around and imposed ourselves on Susi and her family for the night and left the next morning at 4am. It was a very long trip home but we learned our lesson. Never travel on a Sunday after a holiday!!! Ahh.....Good times.

BYU game

This weekend Kenny and Jane were in town and we all got together to watch the BYU-Airforce game. Dad and Tryg in their true blue!
Someday I'll actually be big enough to hold this thing!
The boys hanging out. I think BYU was losing at this point, they don't seem very happy.
And what are the girls doing? Well, let's see Tami is obviously thouroughly involved in the game :).
And Jane can't keep her eyes off it. We won 38-24! Go Cougars!!

Family game night

So you know how most families have the latest and greatest video game systems? Well, not us... we've got PAC-MAN! That's right, good old fashioned PAC-MAN. And if that's not enough excitement for one night we've got Atari's original Pong, Centipede and Break Out. This was one of our recent family nights.
Dad was the champion.
Luke pretending to play. I'm not sure what the headphones were for but apparently he thought they were necessary. The Lightening McQueen slippers didn't hurt his score either.
How did mom do? Well let's just say maybe I should have tried the headphones and Lightening McQueen slippers.
Enough cords??? Yikes. Good times :)
