The kids celebrated in a good old fashioned white trash pool. I made up my own bounce house by using our enclosed trampoline and blowing up a ton of balloons to fill it. The kids had a blast popping them all in the first 10 minutes so I didn't get a picture. I thought it was pretty cool! :) Next up was a little slip-n-slide action. The best $10 I spent!!! Of course, I could have really gone old school and used some trash bags, a few rocks to hold it down, and a hose.
Timmy (Luke's cousin) was not a fan..... I think there was a little too much excitement for him.
He preferred the solace of the snack table instead.
Next up was the pinata. I thought the baseball made sense. Poor Lindsay (another of Luke's cousins)...the lone girl. That's a lot of shirtless boys!
only took about a 1000 swings to break that thing open!
I figured if there was an injury it was going to be someone getting whacked in the head with the bat but we ended up with a bee sting instead :( Poor Jake!
And then the exciting unveiling of my Splish Splash cake :). I always think my cakes look like little kid drawings. I'm very excited to do a girl cake in another month!
More shirtless boys....
While all the cake chaos was going on up on the deck...Timmy got a little RnR alone time in the blow up pool.
Finally...present time! My favorite phrase was courtesy of Tryg: "Whoa that is AWESOME!!!"
Party over and two little boys all tuckered out in front of a movie. I love it when they play so hard they end the day like this!
So when I first brought up the idea of having a splish splash birthday party and told Mark I wanted to have a little blow up pool and slip-n-slide the first thing he said was "NO!". A bit surprised by his quick reply I thought..." wow that was a little rash" He then said "It will ruin the grass!". I of course argued that it would do no such thing and thought he was over reacting and being a bit of a party pooper. It wasn't going to be there that long... how could it kill the grass that fast? He finally let me have my way but still held his ground about the ruining the grass thing. Well....apparently he was right. My bad!
great pictures!! but that sucks about the grass. i wouldn't have expected that either...
